Kenneth Brooks Obituary
KINGSPORT - Kenneth Edward Brooks, 78, of Kingsport, passed away peacefully at his home on November 4, 2023. Mr. Brooks was a Vietnam Veteran in which he served in the U.S. Navy. In addition to the military, he retired from Eastman Chemical Company.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary Gertrude Davis Brooks; sister, Mary Sue Russell; brothers, William "Bill" Brooks, Paul Douglas Brooks, Johnny Hooper Brooks, James David Brooks, and Thomas Lyle Brooks.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Peggy Cook Brooks; daughters, Anissa Byington (Rodney) and Amanda Brooks; grandsons, Brody Byington, Hunter Byington, and Kenny Sykes; great-grandchildren, Maverick Byington, Grayson Byington, Bowen Sykes, Trigger Byington, Windslyn Byington, and Jasper Byington; several nieces and nephews; and longtime friend, Larry Minnick.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. with Dustin Williams officiating.
