Kenneth Green Obituary

JOHNSON CITY - Coach Kenneth Harlan Green, age 83, of Johnson City, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2026, at his home.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, William Carl Green and Tursie Lee Green; his wife of 61 years, Lynn Ellyn Juliam Green; two brothers, William "Carl" Green and James Marlin Green.
Those left behind to cherish his memory include his only son, Kent Julian Green and daughter-in-law, who he thought of as a daughter, Dana Laura Mullins Green. He has two granddaughters who he was extremely proud of: Macie Ellyn Green and Kenley Danielle Green who is his namesake.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at 7:00pm in the chapel of Tetrick Funeral Services, Johnson City, with Pastor Danny Mullins and Pastor Joel Cook officiating. The visitation period will begin at 4:00pm and continue until the service hour.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at 11:00am in Washington County Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be selected from former players. Those who wish to attend the graveside service, please meet at the cemetery at 10:50 am.

I went to church with Ken and Lynn I loved them both. I'm sure Ken is happier now that he is with Lynn and God. Ken was a Godly man and I enjoyed getting to know him. I will treasure the wooden cross he once gave me. And I hear he was a heck of a coach!
