Larry Hill Obituary

MOUNT CARMEL - Larry Ray Hill died Friday morning at 9:51 on May 26, 2023, at home with his two boys by his side.

Larry was an employee of the Kingsport Press for 36 years.

In his own words, he said, "He had a great life, a great wife, and two good boys!"

He loved hunting, fishing, playing cards, coffee, telling stories of his youth, and most of all spending time at his cabin with his beloved wife, children, grandchildren, and friends.

Larry will be remembered for his exceptional work ethic, his generosity towards his friends, his infectious laugh, dancing blue eyes, and relentless stubborn streak.

He was preceded in death by the love of his life, wife of 39 years, Aretta, his parents, James Milford, and Rosa (Marshall) Hill, brothers, Ted Hill, Fred Hill, and Kelly Sullivan, sister, Sherleen Stickler, and special friends, Brad Goins, and Rusty Goins.

He leaves behind his children, Chris Hill and wife, Loni, Matt Hill and wife, Annie, grandchildren, Addison, Dayton, Hoyt, Kendall, and his sister Helen Davis.

The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m., Friday, June 2, 2023, at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 6:00 p.m., in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Troy Dailey officiating.
