Larry McDavid Obituary
GATE CITY, VA – Larry Joseph McDavid, 76 of Gate City, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday June 7, 2023 at his residence following a lengthy illness. Born in Kingsport, he had lived in Church Hill for several years before moving to Gate City. He was a veteran of the U.S Air Force working as an airplane mechanic. Larry attended Daniel Boone Missionary Baptist Church long as his health permitted.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Linda McDavid; his parents, James and Virginia Hensley McDavid.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of 4 years, Retha Miracle McDavid; his sons, Eric Dougherty (Amy) and Brian Dougherty (Vickie); stepdaughter, Michelle Rowland (Ben); grandchildren, Aiden, Kalin, Zachary, Haley and Maggie Dougherty; step-grandchildren, Cayla Douglas and Shane Douglas; step-great-grandchild, Aiden Douglas; sister, Ellen McKeigney (Al); brother, Joey McDavid; several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at McConnell Family Cemetery, Gate City, Virginia.
