Leola Rattin, age 97, and originally from Red Lodge, MT, passed away February 3 at Saint Benedict’s Nursing Home in Dickinson, ND. She is survived by children Connie Evans of Olympia, WA; Kathi (Howard) Dew of Boulder City, NV; and Fred (Renee) Rattin of Dickinson, ND; eight grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren. Husband Hugo passed away in 2014 and son David in 2019. Her parents Emmett and Hilja Luoma, along with siblings Leonard, Lina, and Bill are deceased.
Leola is a Red Lodge, MT graduate, married Hugo April 2, 1945, and together raised four children and did farming just outside Red Lodge. They were partners in life and their farm business. Leola was also a 4-H leader and secretary of their bowling league and the West Fork Irrigation Company. In 2019 she moved to Billings, MT and then to Dickinson in 2022. Leola has told her children often, “I sure had a great life.” She will be missed.
