Linda Faye Banks Patterson died peacefully in the company of her daughter on November 7, 2025, in Charlotte, NC, after a brief illness. She was born in Willis, VA to Vertie Banks White and Leonard Banks.
She eloped with H.L. (Pat) Patterson Jr. in 1963, and they had one daughter Sterling Lee Patterson.
Her favorite role was that of World's Best Grandmother. Family was the joy of her life! She hosted Grandma Camp every summer, attended the boys' sporting events, helped with drop-offs, wiped noses, never said no, cheered at graduation, babysat her dear grand dogs (Murphy and Mia) was always at holidays and vacations near or far.
She was an avid reader, brilliant puzzler, impressive shopper and animal lover. She loved to spend time with family, travel and laugh till she cried. Linda was known as a great listener and might have had a lead foot when she drove across the mountains. She also dabbled in real estate, retail and retired from the fraud department at Citibank in Tennessee.
Linda loved chocolate, her antique clocks, quilts and was a fierce advocate of organ donation. She continuously encouraged everyone to

She was an adventurous redhead, independent and loved seeing her grandsons faces light up just as much as she enjoyed the landmarks of Europe or dining at a Michelin starred restaurant and would tell you just that.
Linda is survived by her daughter and grandsons, Eli Patterson Oliver and Ames Patterson Oliver; sister Debbie Banks Walker (Steve Walker); nieces Carmen Hyatt, Leslie Moes (Brian Moes), a "second daughter" Sharae Monte Scruggs, cousins, great nieces (Rachel Grady and Avery Moes) and great nephew (Cole Moes). She was loved by many more, too many to list, including her husband's family and dear friends across the country!
She was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather Luke White, stepmothers (Mary and Inez Banks), husband of 44 years, sister (Carolyn Banks Coyle) and brother-in-law (Larkin Coyle).
