MINERAL, VA - Loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Lois "Mema" McConnell of Mineral, VA, born Lois Blankenbeckler in Snowflake, VA, passed away on January 13, 2024, at age 90. Lois was predeceased by her husband Paul McConnell and sisters Helen McConnell and Loretta Damon. She is survived by her son Edward McConnell (wife Katherine, children Jonathan and Cara); her daughter Brenda McConnell (children Amy Tarnef, Angela Reedy (husband Cliff Reedy, children CJ, Alyssa, and Cody), and Andrew Tarnef (children Jayden and Jordan)); her daughter Linda Kincheloe (husband Kenny, children Erik Gilliam, Tiffany Smith, and Crystal Brewer (son Aaron)); her daughter Cathy Redmond (children James and Jennifer (daughter Justine)); her daughter Mary Bevard (children Johnny and Nicky); and her daughter Janet Roberts (husband Gary, sons Jason, Stephen (wife Megan, children Stephen, Seth, Harley, and Mark) and Joshua (wife Sara, children Ashton, Benny, Wyatt, and Jacob)).
Mema will be lovingly remembered for the support and love she gave to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Burial Service to be held at 1 PM on Feb 1, 2024, at Parklawn Cemetery, 12800 Veirs Mill Rd, Rockville, MD 20853. Flowers may be sent by Jan 31, 2024, to Fort Lincoln Funeral Home, 3401 Bladensburg Road, Brentwood MD 20722, or in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Quilts for Kids (quiltsforkids.org).
