February 22, 2026

KINGSPORT - Lola Naomi Myers (Bass), age 92, of Kingsport, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on February 22, 2026.

Born on December 3, 1933, in Kingsport, Tennessee, Lola was the daughter of Franklin Bass and Willie Vaughn Bass. She was a lifelong resident of Kingsport and a graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School. She married James "Jake" Myers in Gate City, Virginia, on August 14, 1954.

Lola worked as a secretary at Dobyns-Bennett High School and later for the Fraternal Order of Eagles. In 1986, she chose to leave the workforce to devote herself fully to caring for her granddaughter, Stephanie, a role she cherished deeply.

Lola was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She possessed deep faith and a strong testimony of her Heavenly Father and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her life was devoted to her family and her faith, and she was loved greatly by her family and friends.

Lola was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jake; her sisters Elizabeth Shoemaker, Minnie Lorenzen, and Henrietta Kendrick; and her brothers, Frank Krantz and David "Sonny" Bass.

She is survived by her son, Jeff Myers; her daughter, Melissa Crawford (Steve); her granddaughter, Stephanie Christiansen (Randy); her great-grandchildren, Mason and Hadley Christiansen; her sister, Stella Kiss; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

There will be a graveside service at Vermont United Methodist Church cemetery on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. with President Jason Pickup officiating.
