CHURCH HILL - Lou Sellers, age 92, Church Hill went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at her residence following an extended illness surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Sellers was born on March 8, 1932, and was a lifelong resident of Hawkins County. Lou loved the Lord and was strong in her faith. She attended Freedom Baptist Church and loved to listen to preaching and singing. She enjoyed taking road trips, quilting, canning anything she could, and loved flower gardening. Lou was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother, and loved family gatherings, and visiting her neighbors and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Zora (Harris) Booker; husband, James Elmer Sellers; daughters; Lisa Rene Sellers, and Phyllis Johnson; grandson, Gregory Hicks; sisters, Ruby Ward, Mable Ward, and Ilene Bombailey; and her brothers, Rass Booker, and Ralph Booker.
Survivors include her daughters; Linda White (Cecil), and Rachel Akens (Randy); son, Harold Sellers (Connie); grandchildren, Tim White (Jennifer), Travis White, Michelle Moffitt (Bobby), Christopher Akens (Varanda), Christy Housewright (Chris), Stephanie, Bridgette and Brooke Johnson; great grandchildren, Austin Akens, Bailey Akens, Rachelle Housewright, Devan White, Dylan White, Makenzie White, Nolan Moffitt, Dustin Frazier, Jason Dean, Callie and Caleb White, and Haley Gosnell; great great grandchildren, Kalon Frazier, Raelynne Rosenbaum, Kylie Wilson, Eli Qualls, Brooklyn Casey, Holland Johnson, Jacob Casey, and Isaiah Casey; brother, Virgil Booker; special friend, Lola Derrick; as well as several nieces and nephews, many extended family members, and dear friends.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Friday, October 4, 2024, at Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home or anytime at Lou's residence. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at North Fork Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends.
