Louis Ehrensberger Obituary

Louis E. Ehrensberger, 89, of 145 Hemlock Road, St. Marys, passed away peacefully Monday, January 19, 2026 at Pinecrest Manor.
He was born February 22, 1936, in St. Marys, son of the late Benedict and Amelia Roseto Ehrensberger. Louie was a graduate of St. Marys High School. Following high school, Louie enlisted in the United States Air Force where he was stationed in Tripoli, Libya. Louie was fortunate to see a lot of the world during his service, which ultimately lead him to start his own business. When Louie returned to the states, he graduated from Gannon University. He spent ten years in the purchasing department at Stackpole Carbon Company. During his time at Stackpole, Louie decided to follow his passion for travel and start Elk County Travel Agency.
On April 25, 1964, in Holy Rosary Church in Erie, Louie married Mary Jaworowicz, who survives. They were blessed to share sixty-one years of marriage. The two of them spent so much of their lives-side by side, traveling and embracing the world with curiosity, joy, and love.
In addition to his wife, Louie is survived by his two daughters: Lisa Daghir (Andy) of St. Marys and Michelle Smith (Kevin) of St. Marys; his son, Robert Ehrensberger (Stacey) of Erie; five grandchildren: Emma Leithner (Tony), Mitchell Smith (Mackenzie), Drew and Owen Daghir, and Josie Smith; and one brother, Thomas Ehrensberger (Barbara).
Sports were a lifelong passion for Louie. He especially loved softball and golf, finding joy not only in the games themselves but in the camaraderie they fostered. Louie was a very well-known fast pitch softball pitcher throughout Northwest, PA. Golf held a special place in his heart, and one of his most cherished memories was playing one of his final rounds at age 85 alongside his son.
Above all else, Louie was a family man. He was a steadfast and supportive husband, a devoted father, and an adoring grandfather. He never missed an activity or event for his grandchildren, always cheering from the sidelines and celebrating their accomplishments with pride. His presence, encouragement, and unconditional love were constants in their lives.
Louie was a faithful parishioner of Queen of the World Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Queen of the World Church, 134 Queens Road, St. Marys, PA 15857 on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at 10:00AM with Rev. Jeffery Noble, Pastor, celebrating. Full military honors will be accorded by the St. Marys Servicemen's Burial Detail. Burial will follow in St. Leo's Cemetery.
Visitation will be held in the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home, 169 Center Street, St. Marys, PA 15857 on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 from 4:00PM until 6:00PM.
Because Louie was a proud supporter of Catholic education and an avid Crusader fan, memorial donations, if desired, may be made to Elk County Catholic School System, 600 Maurus Street, St. Marys, PA 15857.

I remember you Louie from the Stackpole years. I was 15 years your junior, so your influence was positive. I do remember your friendly nature. I send my condolences to your family.
