Lyndall Ilene (Malone) Cunningham, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on February 28, 2026, at the age of 81. She was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters. Born on October 4, 1944, in Sullivan County, Tennessee, she made her home there throughout her life, blessing her community with warmth, faith, and quiet strength.
Lyndall was a devoted and loving presence within her family. She shared over 59 years of marriage with her husband, Jerry Cunningham-a partnership marked by unwavering commitment, tender affection, and steadfast perseverance. Their life together was a testimony of enduring love.
She was a proud and loving mother to her sons, Todd Cunningham and Wes Cunningham, whose lives were profoundly shaped by her steady support, wise guidance, and deep affection. She also cherished her daughter-in-law, Kara Cunningham, loving her as her own and welcoming her with open arms and a full heart.
Lyndall was a deeply treasured grandmother. Her granddaughter, Gracie Franco, along with Gracie's husband, Roman, and their son Jude, held a special place in her heart. Gracie's middle name, 'Lyn,' was lovingly given in honor of her Mimi-a tribute to the bond they shared. Jude brought immeasurable joy to Lyndall, filling her later years with smiles, laughter, and renewed delight.
She was also a loving and prayerful grandmother to Kate, Justin, and Alisa Holmes. Lyndall covered each grandchild-and later, her great-grandchild-in daily prayer, lifting their lives before the Lord with unwavering faith. Her grandchildren were one of her greatest joys, and she delighted in every milestone, every story, and every moment she shared with them.
Lyndall also treasured her role as an aunt. Her nieces and nephews felt deeply the warmth of her love, expressed in thoughtful gestures and the many special meals and homemade treats she prepared to celebrate their important moments. She offered gentle guidance, a patient listening ear, and a steady presence that made each of them feel valued and cared for. Through her kindness, attention, and unwavering support, she wove a lasting legacy of love within her extended family.
One of Lyndall's deepest passions was her abiding devotion to Jesus Christ. For more than 29 years, she faithfully studied the Bible through Precept Ministries, continually growing in wisdom, understanding, and love for her Savior. Her faith was her strength, especially as she courageously faced illness for more than half of her life. She lived out her belief with grace, perseverance, and quiet courage, leaving a lasting spiritual legacy for all who knew her.
Lyndall will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her steadfast love, and the way she poured her heart into her family. Her legacy of faith, devotion, and love will continue to shape the generations who follow. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered, forever held close by the many hearts she touched.
