Margaret Lane Sigmon July 1, 1923- April 11, 2024
Margaret was born July 1,1923. She was the daughter of John V and Polly Gilley Lane. She was a graduate of Rye Cove Memorial High School, Whitney School of Business, and attended East Tennessee State University. She retired from Foote Mineral Company (Newmont) plant in Duffield, Va with its Corporate office in Exton, Pa, where she worked for 33 years as Plant Accountant and Office Manager.
She was a member of Holston View United Methodist Church and attended Rye Cove United Methodist Church in her community. She was also a member of the Rye Cove Optimist Club. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, William H. (W.H.) Lane, one sister, Nancy Lane Tippett and her husband Jim Tippett, and an infant sister, Norma Ann.
She is survived by her husband of seventy years, Charles M. Sigmon, of Rye Cove, daughter Cathy Sigmon Talbott and husband Chris Talbott, grandson, Jonathan Talbott and granddaughter, Jennifer Talbott, all of Phoenix Arizona; Sister-in-law, Clarcie Barker Lane and daughters, Trois Carter(Lane) and children, Cambell and Emrey, and Tonja Wolfe(Lane) and husband Jerry and children Hunter, Hayley White (Lane) and her husband Dustin, and Hayden; Niece Missy Saliga(Tippett) and husband Phil, and children Stephanie, Emily, Jessica, and Brian; Only Surviving First Cousin, Jo Penley and lots of true friends.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, 16 April, from 5-7pm, in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the Gate City Funeral Home, with services at 7:00pm with Rev. Ray Dockery officiating.
Entombment Service will be on 17 April, at 11:00a.m., at Oak Hill Cemetery, in Kingsport, Tennessee. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15a.m., Wednesday, to go in procession.
Joe Carter, Charles Stone, Doug Dockery, Eric Vincent, Chris Rollins, and Bill Ashworth will serve as pallbearers. Jack Stallard will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
