KINGSPORT - Marianne Baird Way, 89, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord in the early hours of Monday, March 31, 2025. Marianne was born on October 30, 1935 in Bristol, TN. She was a resident of Kingsport her entire life and a graduate of Lynn View High School. Marianne worked as a teacher's aide and dedicated homemaker to her family. She was active in her community and participated in groups such as the Sullivan County Archives, Liberty Celebration, and Daughters of the American Revolution.

She was a longtime member of Colonial Heights United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir. Marianne was passionate about serving her community alongside her husband. When not volunteering she enjoyed traveling with her family.

Marianne was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Louise Baird; husband of 61 years, Owen Way; and brother, Richard Baird.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Andy Way and wife, Becky, Mary Way Elliott and husband, Rick, and Brad Way; her grandchildren, Blake Way, Grant Way, and Hannah Elliott Nelms and husband, Corey; sister, Shirley Woods; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 pm on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at Colonial Heights United Methodist Church. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 3:00 pm officiated by Pastor Chris Brown and Pastor David Salley. A graveside service will follow at Mount Lebanon Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers will be Andy Way, Brad Way, Rick Elliott, Corey Nelms, Blake Way, Grant Way, Jon Woods, Jeff Woods and Bobby Bishop.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Colonial Heights United Methodist Church for the Mount Lebanon Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 6027, Kingsport, TN 37663.
