MOLINE, IL - Mark's life was taken on November 30, 2023 from a short courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Mark was born Oct. 14, 1958 in Chattanooga, TN. Kingsport was his hometown, attending Westview Elem., Lynnview HS, and graduated from Dobyns Bennet HS. He graduated from UT with a degree in civil engineering. He was a proud TN Vols football and basketball fan.
He was employed at the Rock Island Arsenal and retired in Sept. 2017. In 2010 he started a fun part time job.at Mississippi River Distillery in LeClair when they opened til his passing.
Mark was a kind, funny, and genuine caring person. Throughout life he made lifetime friendships, especially with friends in Kingsport. His hobbies included studying the history of music he grew up with, woodworking projects, fine cars, and playing guitar at home. He loved the outdoors and took pride in his beautiful yard.
He is preceded in death by his father Robert Dorr, brother, Todd, and grandparents, George and Bertie Brown and Lillian Dorr.
His legacy lives on in his wife and lifetime love, Cathi, of 17 years. Sons, Robert Dorr, Daniel Megan), their mother Lynn Kingman. Also, his mother Dot Dorr of Kingsport and sister, Lisa Whitlock of Athens TN. He will be sorely missed by his dogs Skillet and Cody Road.
A celebration of life gathering will take place at the Celebration Center at Mississippi River Distillery in LeClair, Iowa on Sat. Jan. 6 at 1-4pm.
Memorials may be made to Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, Iowa.
