KINGSPORT - Marlene Francis Hudson, 76, of Kingsport, TN, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 3, 2024, to be with the Lord.
Born in 1947 in Syracuse, New York, Marlene spent the first half of her life there before relocating to East Tennessee. She dedicated over 40 years to a career in nursing, demonstrating unwavering compassion and commitment to her patients. Marlene also devoted much of her time volunteering at Shades of Grace United Methodist Church and the Kitchen of Hope, reflecting her generous and caring spirit.
A faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Kingsport Ward, Marlene was known for her servant's heart. She cherished her family deeply, enjoyed crafting, reading, and especially spoiling her granddaughter.
Marlene is predeceased by her parents, Marshall C. Hudson and Jean (Bechtel).
She is survived by her son, Marshall Brooks and his fiancée Chantel Hensley; her beloved granddaughter, Sara; her sister, Nancy Morehead; her brother, Marty Hudson; her stepsister, Jackie Hudson; and her four special friends, Kim Brandon, Tramara Darnell, Jennifer Baker, and Carol Young; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 8th, at Shades of Grace United Methodist Church from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, followed by a memorial service officiated by Pastor Will Shewey and Bishop Ewing from the Kingsport Ward.

Love and prayers to her family. She was such a a beautiful soul, and such a blessing in our lives. I know she is rejoicing with my Mama now and in no pain.
