Martha Hoyle Obituary
KINGSPORT - Martha Gearhart Hoyle, 84, a lifelong resident of Kingsport, passed away on Friday, June 30, 2023 at Holston Valley Medical Center. She graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School in 1957, attended Duke University and was a lifelong avid Duke Blue Devils fan. Martha enjoyed oil painting, duplicate bridge and traveling and especially loved her cats.
She was preceded in death by her husband, V.A. "Skip" Hoyle.
Martha is survived by her sisters, Sara Lightner and husband, Sam and Carol Watson and husband John, and several beloved nieces and nephews.
There will be no formal services.
Memorial contributions can be made to Best Friends Animal Society in Kanab, UT, www.bestfriends.org.

Martha Hoyle was a wonderful artist and good friend to my mom, Judy McCloud and she will be missed.
I have great memories of watching Martha and my mom painting in Martha and Skip´s gorgeous wildflower garden as my sister and I played. We loved petting Martha´s Himalayan cats and were always made welcome in her home.
She will be missed.
