Mary Coffey Obituary

KINGSPORT - Mary Coffey, age 87, of Kingsport, Tennessee passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 13, 2023. She was born to the late Con and Dorothy (McCloud) Brookshire. Although Mary will be greatly missed, we rejoice knowing we will see her again!

Mary attended Vermont United Methodist Church. She also loved to read and watch television with her loving husband.

Along with her parents, Mary was preceded in death by: sisters, Dorothy, Imogene, Caroline; brother-in-law, Charles Coffey; sisters-in-law, Ida Elam, and Elizabeth Fields.

Those left to cherish her memory are: loving husband of 66 years, John W. Coffey; brother, Paul Brookshire; brothers-in-law, Don (Martha) Coffey, Phil Elam; along with several nieces and nephews.

The Coffey family will gather to greet friends and share memories on Wednesday, September 20 from 12 - 2 pm, with a Funeral Service following at 2 pm with Rev. Kim Isley-Selby. A Graveside Service will follow the Funeral.

So sorry to hear of Mary's passing. She was a precious friend many years ago. She has helped me in so many ways. After retirement, we have not seen each other very much. She will always remain in my heart. I will never forget her kindness!! Pat Sproles
