BARTLETT - Mickey Heath France, 39, of Bartlett, Tennessee passed away on January 9, 2024. He was born to Roger and Teresa France on August 23, 1984, in Kingsport, Tennessee. He was a graduate of Dobyns Bennett High School in 2002. He graduated from the University of Memphis in 2007 with a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and from Law School as a Juris Doctor in 2011. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Paul France and his maternal grandparents, Ray and Carrie Stone. Mickey is survived by his wife of 15 years, Tara France; their children, Genevieve France, Tucker France, Piper France, Josephine France; his parents, Roger and Teresa France; his paternal grandmother, Betsy France; his maternal grandmother, Gladys Dillard; his sisters, Ericka Milford (John), Holly Taylor (Josh), Auburn Nikolos (Kosta); his nieces and nephews, Micah, Jackson, Lucy, William, Hallie, Sawyer, Olivia Blair, Charlie, Bella, Leo, Christo, and Elle; he's also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Mickey was an outstanding son, brother, husband, father, godfather, athlete, scholar, grandson, uncle, cousin, nephew, and friend. He served as a mentor to students while in law school. He cared for animals, planted trees, and volunteered at various community opportunities to keep families together. He worked at FedEx as an Aircraft Engineer, and for over 10 years he was a Patent Examiner Attorney, for the United States Patent and Trademark Office in the U.S. Department of Commerce, which serves as the national patent office and trademark registration authority for the United States. He was an inspiration, always striving for excellence in everything he did in life. Mickey was truly a shining light to all who knew him. His legacy will live on with us forever. In lieu of flowers, donations are to be sent to Dorothy Day House, P.O. Box 40269, Memphis, TN 38174-0269 in memory of Mickey. Family will receive friends from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Friday, January 26 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 6325 Raleigh Lagrange Rd, Memphis, TN. The memorial service will be at 11:00am on Saturday, January 27 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 6325 Raleigh Lagrange Rd, Memphis, TN. The inurnment will be at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd, Bartlett, TN following the service.

As a professor of Mechanical Engineering (now retired) at the U of Memphis, I was truly sorry to hear of Mickey France's passing. I wish members of family can remember him as a scholar and a Christian human being. Sorry for you loss.

I cannot find the words to express my sorrow over the death of Mickey. He was a kind, caring young man who loved his family dearly. Our family is deeply sharing the grief of your loss.
