Milford "Butch" Brock, Jr.

Marine Corps Staff Sergeant Milford "Butch" Brock, Jr. age 76 entered the pearly gates of heaven to live in eternity with his Lord and Savior on October 3, 2025. Butch was a proud Marine, wonderful husband, loving father to his children, and caring grandfather to his grandchildren. Butch was born in Harlan, Kentucky to his parents Jewel and Milford Brock, Sr. Butch joined the Marines and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War with Company E, 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines, 1st Marine Division (unit Echo 2-7) from 1969 through 1970. While serving in Vietnam he achieved several medals including the Navy Achievement Medal with Combat "V". After returning from Vietnam, Butch obtained a BS in Business Administration from East Tennessee State University. While in college he spent 4 years as a Marine Corp recruiter expanding his rank to a Staff Sergeant. He spent a 30-year career working at Eastman Chemical Company. He was in Systems as an Advanced Systems Analyst when he retired in 2007. Butch was a black belt in Shit?-ry? karate. He was an avid marksman, enjoyed camping, and vacationing with his family.
Butch was proceeded in death by his father Milford Brock, Sr. and his grandson Jackson Pohto. Butch is survived by his mother Jewel Baker, wife Martha Brock, son Jack Brock (Melinda), and daughter Linzi Hatley, stepdaughter Christie Pohto, and "adopted son" Bharat Nirola, grandchildren Branson Hatley, Owen and Luke Brock, Andrew Clawson, Ekam, Taranpreet, and Bonnie Nirola. He is also survived by his sisters Sue Parks and Sharon Blanton (Dale) and cherished nieces: Missy Hampton, Debbie Parks, Kathy Stagnolia, Lisa Burchfield, and Terri Jenkins. He is also survived by his loving dog Maggie Mae and cat Oreo. They will miss him so.
A celebration of life will be held at Tetrick Funeral Services, Johnson City on Wednesday October 8th, 2025. Visitation and viewing will begin at 11:00am, with the funeral to follow in the chapel of funeral home at 1:00pm, with Pastor Ed Clevenger officiating. Internment will follow in Monte Viste Memorial Park, pallbearers will be selected from friends and family.
If our love could have saved Butch, he would have lived forever.
