DUFFIELD, VA – Mozelle Hackler Carter left this world to be with Jesus on February 5, 2024 at Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport, TN.
Mozelle was born March 22, 1932 in Scott County, VA to Crawford Leo and Ova Stallard Hackler. She lived in Scott County all her life, attending college at Campbellsville College in Ky and Radford College in VA to obtain her degree in education. She taught elementary school in Scott County, VA for 40 years. Mozelle married her husband of 49 years, Zane Kay Carter on June 21, 1958 in Stanleytown, VA. She deeply loved her Lord and served Him Faithfully at Thomas Village Baptist Church in Duffield.
Along with her parents and her husband Zane, Mozelle was preceded in death by brothers, Leo Hackler (Ella Sue), Duard Hackler (Lorraine); sisters, Tania Egan (Lyle), Lotus Butler and infant sister Eilleen Hackler; sisters-in-law, Christine Hackler and Lula Faye Carter.
Mozelle is survived by her brothers, Max Hackler (Joan), Howell Hackler (Carolyn); brother-in-law, George Butler; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12 pm to 1 pm Friday, February 9, 2024 at Thomas Village Baptist Church, Duffield, VA. Services will follow at 1:00 pm with Rev. Garry Edwards and Rev. Darrell Fletcher officiating. Music will be provided by Tammy Smith.
Interment will follow the service in Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA.
Pallbearers will be Family and Friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Thomas Village Baptist Church, designated to the Samaritan's Purse Shoebox Ministry, P.O. Box 267, Duffield, VA 24244.
