Nora Herron Obituary

KINGSPORT - Nora Kathleen Quillen Herron, 96, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 14, 2024. Mrs. Herron was born on August 6, 1927, in Scott County, Virginia where she spent most of her life. She deeply loved God and her family. She was the daughter of James "Hop" Quillen and Emily (Poston) Quillen of the Daniel Boone community of Scott County. Mrs. Herron worked for 22 years at New Way Cleaners.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her precious granddaughter Buffie Richmond) Casey, loving son Danny Allen Free, husband William Alfred Herron, two sisters; Marie Venable and Louella Salley; four brothers, James H Quillen, Jr., Don Carl Quillen, James P. (Octor) Quillen, and Clifford Ray Quillen. She was also preceded in death by son-in-law John Oliver Sharp, as well as four half-sisters and two half-brothers.

Surviving relatives include her beloved daughter M. Suzanne Sharp, sister Edna Davis, nephew Jefferson Davis, grandson Jonathan Sharp, two great-grandchildren, Joel Anthony Casey, Jr. (and wife Payton) and Caitlin Dakota (Richmond) Holyfield; as well as two special great-great grandchildren; Nora Lucille Casey and Daniel Rhea Holyfield.

The family will receive at Colonial Funeral Home in Weber City, Virginia on Monday, February 19 from 4:00-6:00 PM. Graveside Service will be at Holston View Cemetery

on Tuesday, February 20 at 1:00 PM, those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home at 12:00 Noon to go in procession to the cemetery.
