Norma McMurray Obituary

HILTONS, VA - Norma Jean McMurray, 85 of Hiltons, VA passed away peacefully on April 16, 2025 with her family watching over her. She was born in Hiltons, VA to the late John Mullins, Sr. and Ruth McMurray Mullins. She graduated from Gate City High School in 1957. She was also a member of New Hurland Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Norma is preceded in death by her husband, Steve McMurray; sister, Elna McMurray; brother, Thomas Robert Mullins; brother-in-law, Donald Harris.
Norma is survived by her daughters, Connie Baker and husband Robert, Vicki Davis and husband Tracy; grandchildren, Ryan Baker and wife Chrisa, Sean Baker and wife Caroline, Taylor Gardner and husband Levi, and Alex Davis; great grandchildren, Jude Gardner and Ava Baker; sister, Nancy Harris; brother, Larry Mullins and wife Margaret; several nieces and nephews; a very special cousin, Gertrude Jennings.
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 21, 2025 from 11:00 – 12 Noon at Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 12 Noon in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bradley Stapleton officiating. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Interment will follow at McMurray Cemetery.

Norma was a special friend to so many of the members of New Hurland Baptist, including my Mom and myself. I cherish the memories of the visits to Robert and Connie's home in South Carolina, and the friendship shown to the family. I wish for God's blessings and comfort on the members of her family in their time of bereavement, and look forward to a reunion in Heaven one day soon for I know she is at rest in her Heavenly Home!
