On February 22, 2025, Patricia Ann Preece of Hatch, New Mexico, passed away at the age of 56, surrounded by the comforting presence of her beloved children.
Born on November 4, 1968, in Houston, Texas, Patricia lived a life defined by boundless generosity and an unwavering devotion to those she loved. Patricia was preceded in death by her mother, Mamie Virginia Davis, and her father, Robert Oliver Davis Jr. She found her lifelong partner in Samuel Preece, whom she married on October 16, 1993.
In March 1989, she began her most cherished and fulfilling role: Mom. Raising her children—Shelby, Patrick, and Sara—was her greatest joy, and she poured her heart into their lives with tireless dedication. Her love extended beyond her family to her dogs and the many souls she welcomed into her fold, earning her a reputation as a haven for all in need. Her generous spirit shone through in every aspect of her daily life. Patricia is survived by not just her husband and their children, but her son-in-law, Garrett Gillespie, her brother Michael Davis and sister-in-law Shawn Davis and their children, as well as Craig Harp, Michelle Kiker, and countless others she gathered along the way. She had a gift for making everyone feel like family.
Patricia is remembered for her warmth, her selflessness, and the quiet strength that touched so many lives.
