Paul Addington Obituary

Paul Carlton Addington

January 10, 1945 -

February 15, 2025

NICKELSVILLE, VA - It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Paul Carlton Addington, age 80, of Nickelsville, Virginia. Paul passed away peacefully on February 15, 2025.

Born on January 10, 1945, in Nickelsville, Virginia, Paul was the son of the late Leonard Monroe Addington and Lola Dell Addington. He was a proud graduate of Nickelsville High School and a Vietnam War veteran, having served honorably in the United States Army. After his military service, Paul had a long career at Eastman Chemical, where he worked for 25 years before retiring. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his older brother, John L. Addington.

Paul was a devoted family man. He was very proud of his sons and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a man of many interests. A devoted sports fan, he loved following his favorite teams. His passion for genealogical research and history was a significant part of his life, and he spent countless hours exploring his family's roots and sharing his findings with others. He loved to go find arrowheads any chance he got. He was a kindhearted man; to know him was to love him. You could easily find him at Teddys enjoying one of his favorite meals catching up with the local town members.

Paul is survived by his three children: Joey Addington and his wife, Karyn; Ricky Addington and his wife, April; and Randy Addington. He is also survived by his sister, Polly McConnell, and her husband, Barnett McConnell; his grandchildren: Tristian and his wife, Kaylynn; Nikolette and her husband, Kade Clark; Jordan, Hunter, Skyllar, Lillianna, Oliver, and Arthur; and his great-grandchildren: Rosalie, Dawson, Kiazer, and Kingston.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at Colonial Funeral Home in Weber City, VA. Viewing will take place on Friday, February 21, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The funeral will be held on Saturday, February 22, at 10:00 a.m. with Brother Harmon Willis officiating. Interment will followed at Addington Frame Cemetery. Full Military Honors will be accorded by American Legion Posts 3/265 and members of Virginia National Guard Honors Team. The family invites all who knew and loved Paul to join them in remembering his life and legacy.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Addington Frame Cemetery 2135 Wayside Meadow Road, Nickelsville, VA 24271
