Peggy graduated from Ardmore High School, class of 1949.  She married Cecil M. "Bub" Harvey on August 29, 1952 and together they served the citizens of Ardmore as they owned and operated the Harvey Funeral Home until 1988 when they retired.

Peggy was a member of the Oklahoma Funeral Directors Association, National Funeral Directors Association, Order of the Golden Rule, and the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association.  She served on several boards including Ardmore Day Nursery, YWCA; and was past president and board member of Cross Timbers Hospice.  She was a member of the First Methodist Church where she shared her love of Jesus as a Sunday School Teacher and attending many bible studies.  She also served on various church committees and church boards.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Merla Jean Harvey; Barbara Lou Shields and husband Tim and Lisa Lynn Stansill and husband Larry; her grandchildren, Paul Schwab and wife Debbie; Travis Shields and wife Megan; Mika Woods and husband Cory; Sarah Shields, Nicholas Martin, and Ashlea Hoffer; her great grandchildren, Ellie Schwab, Jackson Hoffer, Zachary Woods, Andrew Martin, Katelyn Woods, Keller Hoffer, Clare VanVliet, Addison Woods, Tucker Shields and Patrick Martin.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Betty Terry and Lou Currie and her brother Jack Riddle, Jr.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Cross Timbers Hospice or First Methodist Church Faith Promise.

Services are entrusted to Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home and Crematory where online condolences for the family may be left at www.hdouglasfuneralhome.com.

Dear Merla, Barbara and Lisa, you and your families have my sincerest sympathy for the loss of your mother. Peggy and Bub were always so kind when I would run into them in and around town; I know you all have great memories of your parents as they were a model of all American parents.❤
