Penelope "Penny" Katherine Lane, 81, went to be with the Lord Sunday, (November 5, 2023).
Born May 9, 1942 in Virginia, one of eight children born to Banner and Lucille Kiser. She taught for Tri-Cities Christian Schools and was director for Holy Mountain Baptist Christian School.
She was a member of Salem Methodist Church for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Banner and Lucille Kiser; sisters, Phyllis Lane, Peggy Dean, Pat Barker; and brothers, Lynn Kiser and Billy Joe Kiser.
Surviving are her husband of 62 years, Virgil Lane; daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Keith Hackler; sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Lynn Lane and Jamey and Lori Lane; grandchildren, Joseph (Kayla) Hackler, Kathryn (Dakota) Chase, Kevin Hackler, Christopher Greene, Megan Seymour, Chase Lane, Tori Lane, Chloe (Christopher) Horne, Haleigh Lynn, and Taylor Lane; great-grandchildren, Kameryn Hackler, Oliver Chase, Emmaline Horne and Samuel Hall; sister, Linda Hicks; and brother, Robert Kiser; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday (Nov. 9) at Salem Methodist Church.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday (Nov. 9) at the church with the Rev. Jason McIntosh and the Rev. Brad Brown officiating.
Graveside services will be held at East Lawn Memorial Park immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Salem Methodist Church, 280 Boozy Creek Road, Blountville, TN 37617.
