Phillip Ronald Lemmons

Mr. Phillip Ronald Lemmons, age 77, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, left his earthly family on Saturday, March 1, 2025. Born in Sullivan County on June 9, 1947, Phil graduated from Dobyns Bennett High School and E.T.S.U. with a bachelor's degree in social welfare.

Phil retired from the State of Tennessee Board of Probation and Parole after 36 years of service. He was honored to have been awarded the Anita Steiner award from Goodwill Industry in 2001.

The biggest joy of his life was his granddaughters, Haley and Emily, whom he loved dearly. His favorite pastime was classic cars, especially his 1967 Corvette that won 1st place at the Super Chevy Show in Bristol in 1996. He enjoyed going to car shows and meeting new people. Phil was a member of Holy Mountain Baptist Church. He was married to Ruth Simpson Lemmons for 56 years. They were blessed with a full, happy life.

Phil was preceded in death by his parents, Gale and Beulah Nichols Lemmons; grandparents, Jonah and Alice Lemmons; brother, Gerald (Jake) Lemmons; brother-in-law, Bob Hopkins; and father and mother-in-law, Floyd and Nina Simpson.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Lemmons; son and daughter-in-law, Brandon and Brittany Lemmons; granddaughters, Haley and Emily Lemmons; sister, Betty Hopkins; niece, Lisa Lemmons-Powers; nephew, Tim Hopkins; and sisters-in-law, Helen Lemmons, Peggy Harrold, Patsy Dykes, Juanita Williams and Betty Sampson.

A graveside service will take place at 2:00pm on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at Oak Hill Memorial Park with Pastor Tim Price and Pastor Jerry Musick officiating.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
