Randy passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 after an extended illness. He was born on September 20, 1950 to his parents, Edwin L. and Anna R. Cornett, and was raised in the Orebank Community. After graduation from Ketron High School and the University of Tennessee, he began a successful career in marketing and sales. Randy was a well-read and quick-witted gentleman and was kind to all he met.
He is survived by his brother, Bob Cornett and wife, Linda; niece, Carrie Carpenter and her daughters, Ellie and Anna; aunt, Sarah Ketron and husband, Lester; and several cousins.
Per his request, there will be no formal services.
The family expresses great gratitude for the many years of close friendship of Lyn and Lew Brabham, and to Gary Harris for his outreach to Randy, especially in the past few months. Also, thanks to Rev. Ed Clevinger for his presence and encouraging words at our side. Most importantly, praise to Jesus for drawing Randy into His heavenly kingdom.

When I was a young boy growing up in Orebank I couldn't wait until Sat. so I could play HORSE with Randy. That boy was a fierce rebounder. Sorry, I lost contact with him. My heartfelt condolences to the family. God's blessings on you.
