CHURCH HILL - Richard Boyd Britton, 83 of Church Hill, unexpectedly went home to be with our Savior on Fri., Oct. 17, 2025.

Richard grew up as a native of Jonesborough, TN, but had spent the majority of his adult life in Church Hill. He was an active member of The First Methodist Church of Church Hill where he volunteered & served in multiple capacities. Richard was also an EMT volunteer with the Church Hill Rescue Squad, serving this organization in various leadership roles for many years. Richard had retired from the Holliston Mills co. after 40 years of service. Up until his passing Richard continued to be a very avid deer hunter, looking forward to the fall season each year.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Mary Britton; parents, Ralph & Verna; & older brother, Jim.

Richard is survived by his wife, Gloria, of the home; daughter, Laura Fairchild ( Arnold ); son, Randy Britton (Regina); son-in-law, Brien Crowder; stepson, Ryan Lifford (Araceli); grandchildren, Brooke Kampman (Kyle), Brittany Crowder-Hess (Aaron), Jordan Eul (Scott ), Austin Britton (Candice), & Montse Lifford; & great grandchildren, Cameron Kampman, Aubree Crowder-Hess, Ronan Britton, Zoey Britton, & Britton Eul.

Visitation will be held from 1 – 3 PM on Wed., Oct. 22, 2025, at The First Methodist Church of Church Hill. The graveside service will immediately follow the visitation in procession to Armstrong Family Cemetery off of Amis Chapel Road. The service will be conducted by Pastor Heath Davidson. Serving as pallbearers will be Austin Britton, Kyle Kampman, Aaron Hess, Rick Kyker, & Eddie Sproles.
