Rita Bellamy Obituary

GATE CITY, VA – Rita Virginia (Barber) Bellamy, 78, departed this life on Sunday, January 28, 2024.

She was born in Kingsport, TN on April 18, 1945. Rita was preceded in death by her daughter, Catherine Bellamy; parents, Arthur and Virginia Barber; brother, Mike Barber.

Surviving are her husband, Jesse Bellamy; daughters, Virginia Bellamy, Lisa (Jeff) Walters; sons, James (Debbie) Bellamy, Andy (Beverly) Bellamy and Matt (Nita) Bellamy; grandchildren, Emily, Sara Bellamy, Eric, Scott, Alex, Kate and Payton; great-grandchildren, Ashton, Lily and Ivy; sister, Bonnie (Wayne) Baker; brothers, Art (Linda) Barber, Rex (Sandy) Barber and Matt (Dinah) Barber; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 pm Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at Scott County Funeral Home. Services will follow at 2:00 pm with Pastor Wayne Baker officiating.

Interment will be in the Fields Cemetery, Saw Mill Lane, Gate City, VA.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
