KINGSPORT - Robert C. Scott, 89, of Kingsport, passed away Thursday, November 2, 2023.
He had worked at the Kingsport Press, Rose Printing in Tallahassee, FL, and worked for the federal government in Washington, DC serving his last twelve years with the US Congress on professional staff with the House Appropriations Committee, retiring in 1989.
Robert enjoyed playing Rook, fishing, and working crossword puzzles.
He was a proud veteran of the US Marine Corp.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, John and Eva Scott; wife, Karen Dillman Scott; daughter, Sherron Scott Buck; son, Stanley M. Scott; brothers, Conrad Scott, Johnny Scott, and Norman Scott.
Those left to cherish Robert's memory are his grandson, Joseph Buck; granddaughter, Adrienne Natale; sister, Reda Young; brothers, Duane Scott, and Rodney Scott; several special great-grandchildren; several special nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service will be conducted Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Oak Hill Memorial Park with Pastor John North officiating. Full military honors will be accorded by The American Legion Hammond Posts #3/#265.
