KINGSPORT - Robert W. "Bob" Szymanski, 81 of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, with his family by his side.
Bob was born on May 18, 1942, in Rockaway, New Jersey, to the late Alphonse and Helen Hannon Szymanski. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
Bob retired with over 32 years of service as a comptroller civilian head for the US Navy. He served as president of N.A.R.F for many years and enjoyed golfing and watching football with family.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brother, Fred Szymanski.
Left to cherish Bob's memory are his loving wife of 62 years, Kathleen; daughters, Robin Szymanski, and Cheryl Fenwick (Phil); grandchildren, Heather Heath (Matthew) and Brandon Fenwick (Katie); brother-in-law, John McCoy and family; his beloved dogs, Daisy Mae and Penny; and many friends.
Per Bob's wishes no formal services will be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bob's honor to the Tunnels to Towers Foundation at t2t.org or St. Jude at stjude.org

Robin and family,
