ODENTON, MD - Ronald Hubert Gray, 77, of Odenton, Maryland, formerly of Kingsport, Tennessee passed peacefully in his hometown, May 27, 2023 after a brief illness.
Born and raised in Sullivan County, he was a proud graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School of 1965. At a young age, he started working as a paperboy before going to Calhoun's Construction. He joined the U.S. Army at the age of 20 with a stint in Korea. After returning from service, he started a telecommunication career with ITT, North Electric and Siemens Automation. This led to a career of 35 years at NSA (National Security Agency).
Ronnie was a member of South Shore Baptist Community Church of Crownsville, Maryland where he had many friends. He loved to play golf when the opportunity arose. He was an avid fan of DBHS and the University of Tennessee.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Ann Gray, his sister Sandra Harmon and brothers-in-law, Bob Harmon and Bill Harwood, and sister-in-law Wendi Womack.
He is survived by his beloved daughter, Lauren Gray of Bonanza, Oregon; his sisters Diane Gilmore (Gary); Jane Harwood; his brother Kim Gray; special nieces Heather Harwood and Holly Harwood; and nephews Josh Harwood, Chuck Harmon, and Chris Harmon.
An immediate family-only service will be held at East Lawn due to family illnesses.

Hearing of Ronnie's passing brings back many memories while serving alongside Ron in Korea. He was a great guy, so sad I lost contact with him over the years...prayers for his extended Family... : (
