Roy Bolton Obituary
August 14, 2025
Roy Paul Bolton, age 87 of the Greenshed community, passed away into the arms of Jesus on August 14, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Paul retired with 40+ years in sales at AFG Industries and was a retired TSGT from the United States Air Force. He loved woodworking, fishing and enjoyed playing golf and visiting with friends at Graysburg Hills Golf Course where he was a course ranger for many years before his decline in health. He was a member of Pleasant Hill C.P. Church.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Genevieve Murray Bolton; father and mother, Samuel & Audra Bolton; brothers, Kermit Bolton, Grover Charles Bolton, Waylon Bolton, his twin brother, Delmar Ray Bolton and Bill Bolton; sister, Mary Alice Hensley.
Paul is survived by his children and spouses, Tracy & Bryan Davenport, Stacy & Amy Bolton, Shawna & Steve Crawford, Nicki & Bart Hurlbert and our Lisa Hobbs; grandchildren, Ashley & Luke Stewart, Sarah & Austin Drew, Drew & Nicole Davenport, Brett Bolton and Fiance' Molly Behland, Katie Bolton, Drake Crawford (Alex Britt), Seth Crawford & Fiance' Shania Leonard, Beau Hurlbert, Keaton Hurlbert and Brock Hurlbert; great-grandchildren, Will, Nate & Emmett Stewart, Everett Drew and Bennett Davenport; sisters-in-law, Nancy Bolton, Judy Bolton, Maxine Murray, Jane Murray, Jackie Murray and many loving and special nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 1-3 & 5-7 pm at Jeffers Funeral Service at Afton, TN. The funeral will follow at 7 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Ronnie Duncan and Richard Snowden officiating. The graveside service will be Monday at
11:00 am at Green Lawn Memorial Gardens. Family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home at 10:00 am to go in procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Brett Bolton, Drake & Seth Crawford, Drew Davenport, and Beau & Brock Hurlbert, nephews, Wes Bolton and Terry Murray.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the building fund at Pleasant Hill C.P. Church at 13385 Kingsport Hwy 93, Chuckey, TN 37641. The family would like to extend their appreciation to Ashley Scott (Visiting Angel), Ginny DeDreux (Visiting Angel/family friend) and Trisha Jenkins (family friend at JCMC) for their wonderful care and kindness for Dad and the entire family during this difficult time.

So sorry to see this. I remember Paul from so, so many years ago when working at AFG. I started work there in 1970, this being my first job. I will never forget his kindness and patience, still remembered to this day. My sincere condolences to the entire Bolton family.

I worked with Paul for many, many years at AFG and he was a wonderful co-worker with a great sense of humor. I am so very sorry to hear of his passing and send condolences to all of his family.
