Roy was born January 15, 1939. He served in the United States Air Force Air Police. In his early work career, he delivered milk for Pure Milk in Blountville, TN, and worked at Holston Defense. He later worked for TEC, Kingsport, TN and retired from there after 38 years in 2000. Roy also gave riding lessons and kept the stables at Meadow View Stables in Kingsport, TN. He enjoyed teaching the children about horses and how to ride. The children called him "Cowboy Roy". One of his "loves" was his horses, Cody and Amanda and his beloved dog Jessica, that brought him much joy. Roy was a much-loved husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, great-great grandfather and friend to many. Anyone who met Roy will fondly remember all his stories and the joy he got from telling them.
Roy is preceded in death by his grandparents, Oscar and Ethel Waycaster, his grandmother, Sudie Peavler; parents Alfred and Mildred Lovelace; sister Juanita Crawford; and cherished son Michael Lovelace.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, JoAnn, who was the love of his life; his children Sharon Stephenson (James), Keith Lovelace, Sheila Barberia; sisters, Elaine Ketron, and Rita Ryans; brother Don Lovelace, Sr. (Raymonde).
