Roy Moody Obituary

Roy Daniel Moody, 75, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on December 17, 2023. He died peacefully at home surrounded by his wife and daughter after an extended illness.

He was preceded in death by his son, Kevin Moody; parents, Paul and Blanche Moody; brothers, Joel and Lonnie; sister, Faye; and nephew, Greg Moody.

Survivors include wife; Sandra Moody, daughter; Danelle Greene; grandchildren; Claire and Cooper Greene; son-in-law; Mark Greene; brothers; Dwight, Keith, David, Ivan, and Mark; sisters Paulette, Ruth, Janice, Joy, Justine, Karen, and Elaine, several nieces and nephews.

He accepted Christ as his personal Savior when he was ten. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, papaw, brother and friend. He was a faithful member of Hillcrest Bible Mission since 1973 where he served for many years as a Sunday School teacher. Anyone who knew him, knew of his love for the Lord, family, and friends. He truly had a servant's heart. He was a veteran of the Tennessee Army National Guard have achieved the rank of E7, Sergeant. He was retired from the Tennessee Eastman Company as an Electrician.

Visitation will be from 10:30 am - 1:00 pm Saturday (12/23/23) at Hillcrest Bible Mission, Inc, 3822 Bonita St. Kingsport, TN 37664. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm. Burial will be at East Lawn Cemetery 4997 Memorial Blvd. Kingsport, TN. Christian-Sells Funeral Home is serving the family.
