Sarah Elizabeth Mosier Hiebert

KINGSPORT - Sarah Elizabeth Mosier Hiebert, 82, of Kingsport, passed away January 14, 2026 after a lengthy illness. Born in Kingsport on July 11, 1943 to the late, Guy and Hazel Mosier. She graduated from Sulphur Springs High School in 1961 and was a retired employee of the City of Kingsport, having served for 40 years as secretary to the Public Works Director. Elizabeth was a member of Sullivan Baptist Church. She loved her many dogs, loved to travel and created lasting memories with photos and scrapbooks. Elizabeth was an avid Atlanta Braves fan, and she had the privilege of attending the Braves/Reds game at Bristol Motor Speedway last August.

Sarah was preceded in death by her parents.

Those left to cherish her memory are Guy Mosier and wife Lois of Suwanee, GA; sisters, Patsy Verran of Kingsport, Amanda Bauknight and husband Dennis of Easley, SC and Debra Vicars and husband Warren of Kingsport. Also survived by nieces and nephews and their families; the Mosier and Hill family cousins; her church family, friends and City of Kingsport co-workers.

The family would like to extend special thanks to her Hollis Street neighbors and to the staff of Brookdale Assisted Living in Colonial Heights, Smoky Mountain Hospice and Orchard View Acute Care facility for the care given to Elizabeth.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Eastern Star FWB Church Cemetery with Pastor Jeff Strong and Pastor Kevin Rose officiating. Those attending services are asked to assemble at the graveside by 12:45 p.m.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of Sullivan Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends following the graveside service in the church fellowship hall.
