KINGSPORT - Sarah Ann Housewright, 74, of Kingsport passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at Holston Valley Medical Center. She was born in Kingsport to the late Jack and Gertrude Lilly. Sarah was a graduate of Dobyns Bennett High School and later attended Whitney Business College. She served as the Clerk and Master in Sullivan County for several years prior to her retirement in 2013. Sarah volunteered with several organizations in the area including Altrusa and the Optimist Club. Her passions were traveling, playing bridge, bowling, and spoiling her two cats. She was a loving mother, wife, sister, aunt, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Dee Housewright and son, Kenneth Wayne Housewright.

Survivors include her sister, Susan Dellaria of Pennsylvania; along with several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5pm to 6pm on Monday, October 13, 2025 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Kingsport.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1pm on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:50pm.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
