MOUNT CARMEL - Serena Ann (Adams) Stewart, 91, of Mount Carmel, passed away January 31, 2025. The daughter of Rev. Curtis and Gladys Barrett Adams, Serena was born May 3, 1933 in Clinchport section of Scott County, VA. She graduated from Rye Cove Memorial High School and went on to work as an optician for many years. Serena married the love of her life, Clamon Stewart, and later made their home in Mount Carmel. She was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church in Kingsport.
Serena was preceded in death by husband, Clamon Stewart; parents; sister, Inez Collins; brothers, Melvin Adams, Raymond Adams.
Survivors include several nieces, nephews and special friends.
The family will receive friends Monday, February 3, 2025 from 12:00 – 1:30pm at Pleasant View Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30pm with Pastor Wayne Baker officiating. A graveside service will follow at Holston View Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be members of Pleasant View Baptist Church.
