Sharon Nelms Obituary
Sharon Jean Nelms departed this life on January 13, 2023 after an extended illness.
Sharon is the daughter of Huston Eugene and Marie Barger Nelms. Born August 31, 1950, she is preceded in death by her father, Eugene Nelms and several close friends. She is survived by her mother, Marie Nelms; sister, Joyce Nelms; aunt, Betty Barker; and several cousins as well as her very special friend, Peter Hedberg.
Her two favorite occupations were working in the Church Directory Division of Olan Mills Photography which allowed her to travel and meet new people and working as a school crossing guard. She loved greeting the children each morning and afternoon. She encouraged her "kids" to read and recommended books and stories she thought they would enjoy.
She had a variety of interests including travel, music, classic movies, art and reading.
A memorial service will be held Saturday Jan 21, 2023 at 2PM at Mountain View Methodist Church 4405 Orebank Rd, Kingsport, TN 37664.
Donations may be made in Sharon Nelms name to Shriners Children Fund at Jericho Temple 1100 Jericho Dr, Kingsport, TN 37663
