KINGSPORT - Sherry R. Franklin, 59, went home to be with the Lord, August 3,, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Kingsport, TN July 14, 1966, to Charles E. and Rita Lucille Casey. Sherry was raised in Kingsport and graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School in 1984. She was a faithful servant of the Lord for many years and found comfort in her faith. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all who knew her.
Sherry is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Lucille Casey; sisters, Ann Mitchell, and Sue Casey; brothers, Junior Casey and Jay Casey.
She is survived by her loving husband of 35 years Tom Franklin; son, Cody Franklin (Kayley), stepchildren, Lynn Franklin (Christine), and Debbie Proffitt (Michael); several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters Faye Hammonds (Buddy), Rose Tesnear, and Linda Helton (Bill); a host of nieces and nephews, and special friend of many years Vicki Ford.
Funeral services are scheduled at East Lawn Funeral Home on Friday, August 8, 2025. Visitation will be 11-1 with service to follow with Bro. Steve Martin officiating. Graveside service will be directly after. Members of the family will serve as pallbearers.

I knew Sherry from the first grade up until the ninth grade. We were best friends in the early years at Rock Springs elementary school. I'm so sad to learn of her passing. My sincerest condolences to her family.

I am so sorry for your loss. We hadn´t really seen each other since her mom and my dad had passed many years ago but we reconnected on Facebook a couple of years ago. She will be deeply missed.
