Shirley Diane Hagemeyer

CHURCH HILL - Shirley Diane Hagemeyer, 87, of Church Hill, TN went to be with the Lord Monday, November 17, 2025, at Johnson City Medical Center.

She was born September 13, 1938, in Margat, England to the late Henry and Alice Hodges.

Shirley was a committed Christian and member of Freedom Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and was involved in the Children's Church ministry.

She was also active in the Ruritan Club where she served as secretary and went on to serve as National Secretary for many years. She was a lifetime Ruritan member.

Shirley retired from J.P. Stevens following thirty-four years of service.

She loved her flowers and enjoyed watching hummingbirds. Shirley also enjoyed knitting shawls and making prayer cloths for the sick.

Her dog, Shadow, was her pride and joy and her dearest friend was Norma Anderson. Shirley and Norma talked often and Norma was always there for her.

Shirley will be missed by her husband and Shadow but we know we will see her again and she will not be sick anymore.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her siblings, Maude, Rose, Patricia, Dorothy, Pat, and Robert.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of fifty-three years, Dennis Hagemeyer; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Friday, November 21, 2025, from 4:00-6:00 pm at Freedom Baptist Church, 1536 Independence Avenue, Mount Carmel, TN 37645.

A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 6:00 pm with Pastor Troy Daily and Pastor Freddy Freeman officiating.

Music will be provided by the church choir and Norma Anderson.
