Stephen Salley Obituary

Stephen E. Salley

February 2, 1952 -

January 14, 2025

BLOUNTVILLE - Stephen E. Salley, 72, a spirited and wise soul known for his adventurous heart, left us peacefully on January 14, 2025, at his residence in Blountville, Tennessee. He was born on February 2, 1952, in Kingsport, TN, the son of the late Edgar H. and Beuna Ensor Salley. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife whom he loved very much, Joyce Trent Salley.

Stephen was a true native and lifelong resident of the Kingsport area, and it was here that he established his legacy. A respected bondsman, his career spanned over three decades, during which he dedicated himself to serving the community with integrity and commitment. Stephen's loyalty to his country was exemplified through his service in the United States Air Force, an experience that instilled in him a sense of discipline and honor that he carried with him throughout his life.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Stephen was an active member of the Eagles Club in Kingsport, where he formed lasting friendships and connections. His love for life was evident in the hobbies he passionately pursued. Riding his motorcycle along scenic roads, expertly playing Texas hold 'em poker, and basking in the sun at Panama City Beach, FL.

Though he has embarked on his final adventure, Stephen leaves behind a vibrant tapestry of memories and stories that will continue to inspire those who knew him. He is survived by his sons, Jon Salley (Hannah) and Josh Salley; his daughter, Barbara Quillen; grandsons, Rylan, Sawyer, and Caleb Quillen (Lindsey); granddaughter, Callie Quillen; brother, Larry Salley; sister, Gloria McCreary; and little dog, Boogie, who were all a great source of joy in his life.

A Celebration to honor Stephen will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 18, 2025 at Misty Waters Club House located at 780 Hamilton Rd, Blountville, TN. BYOB.

Condolences and memories can be shared with the family online at www.snydersmemorialgardens.com.

I'm so sorry and sadden to hear this! I met Steve and Joyce and the boys now men Josh and John in 2000 and became friends and a neighbor with them instantly! Steve and I talked frequently through the years after I moved my residence! He was such a great friend and person. I had talked with Steve just recently. He loved Joyce and (missed her dearly )and loved his Grandkids and family! I will miss him as anyone that knew him will. My deepest condolences to his family!
