Susie Mendenhall Hensley, 81, went to be with the Lord during the morning hours of October 17, 2023. Susie was born January 26, 1942 in Scott County, VA to the late William and Cordia Mendenhall. She was of the Christian faith and loved the Lord. Susie was a gentle soul, a loving mother, sister, grandmother, and aunt. Her favorite hobbies were spending time with her family and working on her crafts.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gaines Hensley, her son Bobby Hensley, 3 brothers, 6 sisters and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Hensley is survived by her son Billy Hensley and daughter Robin Hensley & partner Greg MacLean; seven grandchildren Erica Morelock & husband Roy, Dana Maner & husband Jon, Foy T Fleming II (TJ) & wife Erica, Matthew Fleming & wife Jalicia, Dustin Hensley, David Hensley & partner Jessica and Alex Hensley; thirteen great-grandchildren Dylan Morelock, Elizabeth Morelock, Zach Maner, Haleigh Garrett, Emma Garrett, Briana Maner, Nathan Garrett, Mason Maner, Ava Fleming, Emery Fleming, Lilly Fleming, Addison Fleming, Aiden Fleming, Ronin Hensley & Tristan Hensley; three great-great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Susie will be held Saturday, Oct. 21, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at East Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Sunday, October 22, 2023 at 2:00 PM, burial to follow in East Lawn Memorial Park.
