BLOUNTVILLE - Tanner Wood, 30, of Blountville, TN, was called home Easter Sunday, April 9, 2023, at his home. Tanner was born in Kingsport and grew up in Blountville. He was a graduate of Central High School Class of 2011. Tanner was known for his wonderful smile. He was kindhearted, never met a stranger, and enjoyed doing many crafts.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Mary Light; maternal grandparents, Paul and Lois Darnell; and uncle, Greg Darnell.
Tanner is survived by his father, Randy Wood; mother, Melissa Wood; brother, Hunter Wood; niece, Brynlee; grandfather, Truman Light; aunts, Lisa Darnell and Debby Wood; uncle, Bill Wood; and cousins, Will Wood, Joseph Wood, Mary Jo Howell, and McKenzie McLaughlin.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. with Bill Wood officiating.

We had Tanner in our Cub Scout pack as a child. He was always so full of energy and laughs. He graduated with our sons, Casey & Cody. We offer our condolences to Randy & Melissa, as well as Hunter. Our hearts go out to you. Rest in peace Tanner.
