Terry Dawson September 1, 1948- May 18, 2024
Terry Dawson, 75, born on September 1, 1948, went home to be with his Savior on Saturday, May 18, 2024 with his family by his side. Terry had owned and operated Dawson's Grocery on Horton Highway since 1978 until he retired on December 31, 2020.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard "Dick" and Elva White Dawson, an infant sister and two stepsons, Tony and Chad Bowen.
Terry is survived by his wife of 25 years, Lowanda Roberts Dawson; brothers and sisters, Richard "Jr." (Tiny) Dawson, Jane (Johnny) Dickerson, Patty (Jerry) Smith, Reba (Eddie) Salyers, and Lloyd Dawson; three children, a very special daughter, Lisa (Mark) Anderson, Larry and Ralph McGhee; two very special grandchildren, Robert "Bub" (Faith) Cole and Mikayla "Sis" (Brandon) Schofield; four very special great-grandchildren, Cayden Cole, Hadleigh Schofield, and Coltyn and Bailey McGhee; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of special friends.
The family will receive friends from 4-8:00 pm on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at Pine Grove Freewill Baptist Church.
The funeral service will be at 2:00pm on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at Pine Grove Freewill Baptist Church with Jerry Smith and Marty Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Lloyd Dawson, Larry McGhee, Austin McGhee, Dustin McGhee, Michael Willis and Ralph McGhee. Honorary pallbearers will be the congregations of Pine Grove Freewill Baptist Church and Bethany Freewill Baptist Church.
