Vallis G. Jessee, 89, passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at his home following a brief illness.

He was born on May 15, 1936, in Lebannon, VA, to his parents, the late Floyd and Eva (Newman) Jessee. Vallis was a United States Army Veteran and was stationed in Korea and Germany. He was charter member and a lifetime member of the Church Hill VFW Post #9754. Vallis retired as a welder from Bristol Steel and Iron Works after more than 20 years of service.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his children, David, Danny, Audrey, Susanne, and Jan; sister, Janice Chappell and her husband, Lawrence; nephews, Mark Greer and Steve Chappell; and his brother-in-law, Gene Greer.

Vallis is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Tressa Jessee, stepson, Gene (Marsha); stepdaughter, Tammy (Chris); sister, Phyllis Greer; as well as several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at Church Hill Memory Gardens with Pastor Allen Jessee from Highlands Fellowship Church in Abington, VA. officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the VFW Post 255 and the American Legion Post 4933. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home by 12:30 PM to go in procession which will be led by the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association.
