Vivian Brown Obituary

KINGSPORT - Vivian Eversole Brown, 81, of Kingsport, went to meet her Heavenly Father Thursday, December 21, 2023.

Vivian was born on March 8, 1942, in Vincent, Alabama and moved to Kingsport at the age of four with her family.

She retired from Holston Defense Corporation after thirty-five years of service.

While working, she volunteered with several humane societies and continued volunteering after retirement. Vivian had a love for animals, and she left behind her ten cats and two dogs.

She also enjoyed taking care of her flowers, having seventy-five rose bushes in her yard.

Vivian was a member of Higher Ground Baptist Church for twenty-one years and a member of The Church on the Way the last few years. She loved her church and church family.

She enjoyed her membership in the Red Top Hatters Club for several years, the "Golden Girls" group from HGBC, and her outings with her best friends, Phyllis Fugate and Phyllis McConnell.

Vivian was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Athan M. "Buster" Brown; parents, Dr. W.C. and Vivian Eversole; and brothers, William and Clegg Eversole.

Those left to cherish Vivian's memory are her brothers, Mark Eversole (Cissy), Gray, TN and Joe Eversole (Janet), Pelham, AL; sister-in-law, Nancy Eversole Bible, Morristown, TN; niece, Tracy Smith (Tom), Franklin, TN; nephew, Stan Eversole (Amy), Morristown, TN; great-nieces, Emma Jo Eversole and Ali and Hannah Smith; great-nephews, Will and Jay Eversole and Bo Smith; special niece, Terri Smith; sisters-in-law, Doris Ford, Plantation, FL and Mary Jane Starnes, Greensboro, NC; and brother-in-law, Bob Brown, Thompson Station, TN.

The family will receive friends Saturday, December 23, 2023, 9:00-10:00 am in the funeral home chapel.

A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 10:00 am with Dr. Phil Hoskins officiating. Music will be under the direction of Todd Potter and Wayne Bledsoe.

A private family Entombment Service will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park in Mausoleum I.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Petworks Animal Services, 3101 E. Stone Dr., Kingsport, TN 37660 or TCGC Animal League, PO Box 2406, Kingsport, TN 37662.

The family extends their sincere gratitude to Terri Smith, Phyllis Fugate, and Phyllis McConnell for their compassionate care of Vivian.
