Wayne Robinette Obituary

ROGERSVILLE - Wayne Quentin Robinette, Sr., age 86, of Rogersville, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 11, 2023, with his family by his side, after a period of declining health. He was a faithful member of Hickory Cove Baptist Church, where he served as deacon for over 40 years. A proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served as an electrician's mate on the USS Randolph. Wayne retired from TVA after 30+ years of service.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carson and Clara Goan Robinette; brother, M.C. Robinette, Jr., and wife, Barbara; sisters, Eula Kate Sexton, Evelyn Jessee, and husband, Arnold, Millicent Thacker, and husband, Earl, and Polly Penley, and husband, Grover C. "Pete."

Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Shirley Crouse Robinette, of the home; sons, Quentin Robinette, and wife, Peggy, and Keith Robinette, and Logan; 8 grandchildren, Sierra Price, and husband, Andrew, Taylor Cozart, and husband, Jarrod, Michelle Robinette, Chris Roder, Vera Bartra, Candy Manis, Nathan Scearce, and Lynn Scearce; special great-grandchildren, Rhett and Addie; great-grandchildren, Evan, Tia, Hailie, Beth, Makenda, Lacey, Alex, and Ezra; 3 great great-grandchildren, Tayla, Jude, and Elliot; several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at Christian-Sells Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at Providence (County-Line) Cemetery with Rev. Tommy Seals presiding. Hawkins County Color Guard and Tennessee Army National Guard will conduct military honors. The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice of Kingsport for their kind and gracious service to Wayne and his family. Christian-Sells Funeral Home in Rogersville is serving the Robinette family.
