William Keith Obituary

William Howard Keith

August 16, 2025

NICKELSVILLE, VA - William Howard Keith, age 84, adoring husband to his surviving wife of 65 years, Louise Keith, and loving father to his surviving children, Tony Keith (Angela) and Sharon Burke (Anthony) passed away in the early hours of August 16th after a long courageous battle with cancer.

He lived his life enjoying his garden in the summers, fishing whenever he was able, and watching racing on the weekends.

Howard was born in Russell County, VA to Koen and Verdia Keith, who preceded him in death. He was raised surrounded by all his brothers and sisters; Roger Keith, Ray Keith and Shirley Compton preceding him in death and his surviving sister, Louise Compton.

He will be remembered in life for the endless pride he had for his surviving grandchildren, Brittany Mullins (Alex), Tony "TJ" Keith (Charli) and Jessica Carter (Carl) and his great-grandchildren, Isabelle Rose and Conrad Henry.

He is also survived by many nieces and nephews that he shared an exceptional bond with.

Along with the above mentioned, there were several special caring friends and family including Timmy and Wes Salyers, John and Regina Payne and Larry and Nancy Culbertson who loved him deeply.

Graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, August 21, 2025 at Holston View Cemetery with John Payne officiating. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 1:55 PM. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
